Introduction
The goal of the lab is to establish a facility dedicated to research and teaching in Remote Sensing and GIS-related issues. We have been very active in GIS projects from both the public and private sectors. The lab is equipped with ArcGIS, PCI, eCognition and other GIS/RS softwares. GIS/RS training courses represent another objective of the lab.

Objectives
1.Integrate remote sensing and spatial information technologies as a tool in environment monitoring researches.
2.Provide RS/GIS training courses to local academic and industrial institutions.
3.Build and maintain an integrated geo-database to provide data for academic and governmental institutes through the Internet. In our department, there are hundreds of GIGA bytes of RS and GIS data scattered over several different servers. We would like to create a geo-server to organize and provide an efficient data sharing mechanism to our research group via the intranet/internet.
4.Provide services in GIS/RS.
