\u3010Background of the Scholarship\u3011<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Professor Chen Kuo-Chang, motivated by his deep appreciation for the land of Taiwan, devoted himself to the study of Taiwanese toponymy beginning in 1981. Over the years, he dedicated himself to researching and documenting Taiwanese place names, collecting their pronunciations, and applying linguistic principles in the hope of developing a new direction for the study of Taiwan\u2019s linguistic geography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To recognize and support outstanding students in the Department of Geography, Professor Chen established this scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3010Eligibility\u3011<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Master\u2019s and doctoral students in the Department of Geography.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3010Number of Recipients and Award Amount\u3011<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One recipient will be selected each academic year.
The scholarship amount is NT$10,000 per recipient<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3010Eligibility Requirements\u3011<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. The applicant must be a currently enrolled master\u2019s or doctoral student in the Department of Geography and must have achieved an academic average of 80 or above (GPA 3.38 or above)<\/strong> in the previous semester. Applicants who did not take any courses in the previous semester must submit their academic transcripts from previous years. (Academic records will be automatically imported by the scholarship system.)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The applicant must demonstrate outstanding academic performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The applicant must not have received any other scholarship during the current academic year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
