Tenure-Track Position in Indigenous Studies
Department of Geography, National Taiwan Normal University
Position Available: 1 August, 2025 or 1 February, 2026
The Department of Geography at National Taiwan Normal University invites applications for a tenure-track position at all professorial levels in Indigenous Studies. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative scholar who will contribute to the department’s mission of excellence in research, teaching, and service, with a particular focus on areas such as Indigenous knowledge and culture, Indigenous education, and Indigenous teacher training.
Responsibilities:
– Assist the ‘Indigenous Research and Development Center’ and the ‘College of Teacher Education’ in offering Indigenous Education and Culture courses.
– Promote indigenous education initiatives across the university.
– Implement indigenous education-related projects of the university.
– Support the operation of the university’s ‘Indigenous Research and Development Center’.
– Provide guidance and mentorship for indigenous teacher trainees.
– Plan and execute the university’s ‘Secondary Indigenous Teacher Training Programs’.
Qualifications:
– Ph.D. in Geography, Indigenous Studies, or a related field.
– Experience and ability to teach courses in Indigenous Education and Culture courses.
– Practical experience in ‘Indigenous education and administration’ and ‘Indigenous teacher training’.

- A copy of PhD certificate.
- A copy of identity card or passport.
- A current curriculum vitae (CV) (including a list of published works).
- PhD thesis and copies of selected publications in the last five years.
- Syllabi for potential courses to be taught (3 courses, each within 500 words in either Chinese or English) and,
- 2-3 reference letters.
